March 23rd (Easter Sunday), Tim Wirth unveiled a series of Jon Max
works called, The Pistol Pete Paintings.
The Pistol Pete Paintings are the first installment of what Wirth is calling an ongoing "painting procession," a project that takes focus on a specific subject or image every month and concludes with an online exhibition of work. As with much of the work he makes, Wirth declined to release any formal statement about the project or The Pistol Pete Paintings, outside of supplying a link to a particular 1988 ESPN obituary of Pete Maravich; |
